Timing

Basic WCS uses 6 counts. Then there are 8 count figures and it is possible to extend or shorten figures as well.

Sugar Push

Leader's steps, from open:

LF back (1)
RF back (2)
LF back & stop follower (3)
rock RF (a)
LF forward (4)
(anchor step:)
RF back (5)
rock LF (a)
rock RF (6)

Follower's steps, from open:

RF forward (1)
LF forward (2)
RF forward (checked by leader) (3)
rock LF (a)
RF back (4)
(anchor step:)
LF back (5)
rock RF (a)
rock LF (6)

Left Side Pass

Leader's steps, from open:

LF back/right off the slot & rotate L 45d (1)
RF together & LH lead follower's travel forward in slot &
    rotate L 45d (2)
LF back (3)
rock RF (a)
LF forward & rotate L 45d (4)
(anchor step:)
rotate L 45d & RF back (5)
rock LF (a)
rock RF (6)

Leader starts to get off the slot on (1), but continues to lead the follower forward in the slot through (4).

Follower's steps:

RF forward (1)
LF forward (2)
RF forward (3)
LF forward & rotate L 90d (a)
RF right & rotate L 90d (4)
(anchor step:)
LF back (5)
rock RF (a)
rock LF (6)

Importantly, the follower should not cross on (4). This step can be a side step if the follower started rotating prior to it, or a forward step followed by a 180d pivot between (4) and (5).

There is no underarm turn in a left side pass.

Right Side Pass

Leader's steps, from open:

LF back/left off the slot & rotate R 45d (1)
RF left/cross in front & LH lead follower's UAT left &
    rotate R 45d (2)
LF back (3)
rock RF (a)
LF forward & rotate L 45d (4)
(anchor step:)
rotate L 45d & RF back (5)
rock LF (a)
rock RF (6)

The cross on (2) needs to be roughly in the middle of the slot, balanced between providing directional lead forward for the follower to start the pass but not so far forward in the slot that the step on (4) runs into the follower.

Follower's footwork is the same as in a left side pass but this is an underarm turn left for the follower, whereas the left side pass did not have an underarm turn.

Basic In Closed

Leader's steps:

LF left (1)
RF together (2)
LF triple step left (3-a-4)
RF triple step (5-a-6)

Throwout

Leader's steps:

LF left (1)
RF together (2)
LF triple step left (3-a-4)
rotate L 90d & RF triple step back (5-a-6)

On the last triple, the leader rotates left into perpendicular position while not moving the follower. At the end of throwout the leader is in the rail of the slot, follower is in the slot. Thus the follower executes basic right and then, without rotation, executes sugar push or a left/right pass moving forward.

Return

Return can be done from a right side pass, with the leader reframing on (4) and continuing (5-a-6) in closed position.
