Hesitation Turns

Leader's steps, from RF:

RF forward & hesitate

LF forward & rotate L 90d
RF right & rotate L 90d
LF together crossed in front

RF back & rotate L 90d
LF left & rotate L 90d
RF together

LF forward & hesitate

RF forward & rotate R 90d
LF left & rotate R 90d
RF together

LF back & rotate R 90d
RF right & rotate R 90d
LF together

The side steps are really meant to be side steps, in relation to the body position, not back ones, although the steps should roughly be in LOD.

4 Way Hesitation

Leader's steps, from RF:

RF forward & hesitate

LF back & hesitate (^)

RF right & hesitate (*)

LF left & hesitate

With UAT Left

UAT starts in the third measure (marked (*)).

Because the turn is left instead of right, the lead is not just a palm up but palm tilted right 90d and thumb behind the palm. There should be no pressure exerted with the thumb but its position prevents the follower from executing a right turn.

LH needs to come up and palm rotate on the step marked (^) to prepare for the actual turn starting on (*).

Left Turn

Leader's steps:

LF forward/left & rotate L 90d (1)
RF right & rotate L 90d (2)
LF together crossed in front (3)

RF back/right & rotate L 90d (4)
LF left & rotate L 90d (5)
RF together (6)

Follower's footwork is the same offset 1 bar, also crosses in front on the forward step.

Right Turn

Leader's steps:

RF forward/right & rotate R 90d (1)
LF left & rotate R 90d (2)
RF together crossed in front (3*)

LF back/left & rotate R 90d (4)
RF right & rotate R 90d (5)
LF together (6)

Right turn does not normally cross on (*), though one may cross there.

Change Step

Left foot to right foot, leader's steps:

LF forward (1)
RF right (2)
LF together (3)

Right foot to left foot, leader's steps:

RF forward (1)
LF left (2)
RF together (3)
